Bonus!Your most important skill as a business owner is your salesmanship period!

The one single ability that increase sales you must master.

Make sure you dive into this bonus article till the end to help you increase sales, take key notes too if you need.

Owning and running a buisness is no easy task. Especially when you have to find ways to sustain it. Aquire customers, convince them you can bring the best soultion that will solve their problem fast and easy.

A product that will change their business for the better but let me share a personal successful strategy I use and applied plenty of times.

A strategy that offered me the best free marketing approach and that is recommendations.Word of mouth and client’s suggestions are the best way someone can gain brand popularity and more sales.

As a publishing entrepreneur and by doing all sorts of marketing methods for my clients, I’ve spent years studying the art of selling.

The techniques that follow aren’t difficult to learn, but they require discipline and practice.

Having the best product or service means nothing if you can’t get anyone to buy it, to establish the success of your business you must develop the ability to generate revenue, to drive sales and increase conversion rates .Develop the art of “salesman-ship”.Show your product’s benefits, ability and other assts.

This short article is tested and applied, so you’re ensured that it works, although it might seem an old strategy,it remains the quickest and most powerful way to connect with your audience and make sales.

Here is a brief outline of the 14 selling methods I’ve developed for increasing sales starting with a simple call:

  1. USE YOUR MOBILE PHONE –Absolutely the cheapest, most effective, and fastest way to reach customers is by phone.

  2. By that I mean “cold-calling”.Let me highlight the do’s and dont’s when  you’re ready to  call a prospect.

  3. Write out a script before you call, so you don’t sound vague.

  4. Introduce yourself, your company, the purpose of the call, and give a brief benefit of your product/service to the client.

  5. Ask yourself prior calling and write down your answers: What can you do for his/her business? How would this investment could change their business’s trajectory?

  6. Which are the main benefits of your service?-highlight that into your conversation-on paper first, read it loud so you can hear the weird sounding phrases. Create a potential conversation between you and the customer(this might sound funny to you,but trust me it is going to outline words or phrases that just don’t match the dialogue, regardless of what the client may say.)

  7.  Next, be brief, to the point, and have 10 possible objections you might get, answered in your script. This way you’re prepared for the customary “brush-off.”

  8. Always try to get a firm commitment to a meeting. This call is not to “sell” the client, it’s to get a face-to-face meeting to establish credibility – if the person agrees with this meeting this would mean not only a guaranteed sale but also you will get yourself a soild word of mouth recommendation. Would you buy an important product from a voice over the phone? No. You rather meet the vendor and listen to a detailed offer.Sometimes people do this, but many times the product’s quality is questionable.

Pesides, you get to know the other person better that’s why cold calls are not for everyone. Big companies are still cold calling their customers to sell their new discounted offers. But if the service or product requires more explanations, you should consider meeting your prospect in person, this establishes a trust connection between the seller and the customer.

Get over the fear of public speaking and change your brand’s recognition for ever.

    9. SHOUT IT FROM THE MOUNTAIN TOP – You should always be looking for new customers, I’ve found that giving seminars, teaching, guest speaking at trade shows and organizations, or writing an article for your trade magazine or business journal establishes you as an “expert” in your field. They don’t have to be yours, you can participate and publish as a guest.

I used to be sooo afraid to speak up in front of people, now, the older wiser me recognizes that it dosen’t matter how many times I “failed” and sounded like a tired donkey)) but the times I finally got the courage to go out and train people about the use of my products and services.

The best part is that inside a webinar/a training course you get to re-upload a video you didn’t like, you can create modules with a series of 5-10-15 minutes videos and start searching for people looking to learn about your specific product.

People like to buy from experts because it reduces their fear of making a bad decision. Everyone can overcome their fear of public speaking. Find the method that works best for you and do it. As a desperate step, you can join a Toastmaster’s group near you or take a night course at a nearby Adult School.

10. ASK QUESTIONS – Most salespeople think that the first meeting with the prospect is the only chance to make a sale. WRONG!

Before you go into your “pitch” ask questions, take notes, what are your prospect’s goals and challenges. Helping a prospect solve a business problem creates a “win-win” relationship and closes more sales than you think

11. AVOID “PRODUCT DUMPING” – Telling your prospect all about your product/service before you know their needs is a mistake made by 95% of salespeople. This is an inefficient selling method and upon reflection, your client will lose faith in you.

I’ve met with clients on several occasions and left them with professional advice and good feelings, but no sale and that’s alright. Because in the future I’m apt to get “word of mouth” referrals from them, which will outweigh what I might have made if I’d simply “sold” them a service that wasn’t an answer to their problem.

Remember – nothing adds more to your credibility than a referral from a satisfied prospect.

    12.  KNOW YOUR NUMBERS – Selling is a numbers game, and you need to learn your “selling ratios.” How many   prospecting calls do you need to get a meeting, and how many meetings to get a sale.

This allows you to manage your cash flow by forecasting your sales.

It also tells you how many calls are needed to increase your sales revenue.

 Happy selling!

Cold calling is going to thrive again.
    Thank you for the tips!

  • Well,i’ve been doing cold calling for years now, the article highlights some crucial points, but you have to manage somehow to avoid taking everything the other person on the phone says to you( i used to do that)…in the end nobody knows how the day has been for them, what other problems they deal with and so on.
Prepare yourself for a negative response or a big word storm or in some cases they just hang up the phone(which i think it’s preferable as opposed to throwing words).

  • Joseph Push says:

I wasn’t ever convinced to buy anything through a phone call..hahahahaaaaaaa

  • Cold calling these days are hard to get results…i’m going to try these suggestions like writting my “speech” upfront and other things.

  • I do think cold calling is good, but people are eager to “get it over with”, and expect you to explain the product or service’s benefit in like two sentences…
They quickly lose their temper, and you have to go the other way around to make them feel relaxed and comfortable talking to you.
    Thanks for the tips!
